    Scaterd Few was a Burbank, California, Christian punk band formed in 1983 around Allan Aguirre, then known as Ramald Domkus. Its early material came from Los Angeles punk, but the band did not remain within a narrow hardcore format. The 1990 debut Sin Disease was loud, strange, street-level music with a rough mix of punk attack and funk movement. Jawboneofanass found the group more controlled, using relaxed vocals over atmospheric guitar, shifting percussion, progressive textures, and lyrics that resisted simple explanations. By Grandmother's Spaceship, the sound had widened again: hardcore could give way to reggae, progressive rock, or an extended synthesizer passage within a single song. Aguirre's lyrics drew on social criticism and Scripture, while the arrangements made abrupt changes feel deliberate rather than accidental.

    The original band went on hiatus in 1985 after its early recordings failed to find a market, and Aguirre later worked with Cygnet and developed Spy Glass Blue. Scaterd Few returned in 1989 with Omar Domkus and released Sin Disease through Alarma Records in 1990, but controversy around the band's lyrics, public image, and Aguirre's comments contributed to its departure from the label. After Jawboneofanass, a planned Tooth & Nail contract ended when personality differences and disagreements over artistic direction broke up the lineup in early 1996. Aguirre rebuilt the band with new members in 1997, leading to Grandmother's Spaceship the following year. The later lineup recorded Omega No. 5 for Aguirre's Accidental Sirens label in 2002.
