    The O.C. Supertones was a Christian ska band from Mission Viejo, California. The group grew from Saved, a Christian rock band formed in 1991 by Matt Morginsky, Jason Carson, and Tony Terusa, then shifted toward ska in 1995 and signed with Tooth & Nail Records. The 1996 debut, Adventures of The O.C. Supertones, combined brisk Jamaican-style rhythms with punk guitar, prominent saxophone, and direct evangelical lyrics. Supertones Strike Back made the approach cleaner and harder while retaining its danceable energy. By Chase the Sun, the band had widened its palette with acoustic worship songs, rap, reggae, and hip-hop; one track even moved from surf instrumental to ska. Loud and Clear restored a heavier guitar-driven attack, while Hi-Fi Revival leaned toward horn-led soul and pop with modern hip-hop influence.

    In 2000, drummer Jason Carson left to return to full-time ministry, and Adam Ferry took over before John Wilson assumed the role. Tony Terusa left in 2003. Darren Mettler followed in 2004, leaving a substantially altered lineup for the band's final period. The Supertones announced their breakup during 2005 and played their last show at Biola University on October 7 that year. Ethan Luck, who had played guitar in the band, joined Relient K in 2008. Most of the original members reunited for touring in 2010, with the group continuing to record and perform for several years. The O.C. Supertones permanently disbanded in 2017. Carson later became the founder and senior pastor of Encounter Church in Orange County.
