The two things that really sold me on this album were the vocals and the ballads. Each of the vocalists on this release is a great singer. I don't think that this is just a matter of good production values--although the album is well produced. These people really can sing.
Some of the best ballads that I have heard in a long time are on this release, particularly the song, "It's in the Lord's Hands Now," which is about a relationship that may be ending. The point of view of the song is from the perspective of the one who is being dumped, and how the person is trying to put the whole situation in God's hands. It's a powerful, emotion-laden song, one that could sound trite without the right performance. Fortunately that is not the case here.
The focus of each song seems to be designed to encourage the Christian in some portion of their walk. In some cases it's looking towards heaven and in others it's in dealing with facets of everyday life. The lyrics are Biblically based and uplifting.
In short, I would recommend this release to anyone who likes most mainstream contemporary Christian music. Even if you aren't a fan of the contemporary styles, you might want to give this a listen any way. The strong vocals and mix of song types should get you tapping your toes.
