Anthony DeBarros has composed a beautiful collection of songs with the aid of his God, his family, and his friends. The themes here are the ties that bind, both in our human relationships and in the devotion of God to mankind's salvation.
The power and love of the Father shine through DeBarros' lyrics. One of my favorite examples appears in the song "Through The Fields," in which DeBarros sings:
You water the tall grass With love that falls like tears of rain In fields of green I stand a naked child Reaching for You, my Savior.
Shining, colorful images like this are perfect for the seeker, who can pause and listen, finding hope and peace in this otherwise crazy, meaningless life!
The musical style found on this 10-song CD varies from tender, loving ballads, such as "Song for Elizabeth," to rousing calls to "pick up your sword," like the rocking "Crimson Highway."
The sound of The Waiting Room centers upon the acoustic guitar and DeBarros' voice, augmented by keyboard, electric guitars, drums and bass when it suits the song. The balance and pacing of the songs varies throughout the album in such a way that the listener is carried along from track to track.
The Waiting Room is a wonderful place to be to hear great tunes that will bless your heart, and encourage you to "find that He has a plan to build a better man than you would have been."
