I am too judgmental...I can admit it. I usually jump the gun when it comes to music and I mark it as I initially see it. I did that with Blue Sky Mile. I thought that they were Initial Records' answer to the rising popularity to Taking Back Sunday and the like. I was wrong...well maybe I wasn't. They have more to offer than all the other bands that are trying to find a place in the dimming spotlight of the current trends. These guys are actually very talented and they have an edge that I can't quite put my finger on. They are old school in the sense of Dag Nasty Wig Out At Denko's old school not Can I Say old school. They just have this "we should have been big in the 80's early emo scene" swing to them but with a total new school mix. I really do not like the musical styles of Taking Back Sunday and the like but there is just something about this band that makes me move. The music has the old school flare but the vocals have the new school taste. It gels and it makes a good sound that is pleasing and somewhat addictive. I really hope that listeners find a gem here and don't write them off as some cheap carbon copy. These guys have it going on and I think that their flare of originality in a dull scene will be their ticket!
