If Luxury exorcised Lee Bozeman's glam rock demons, Canary does something similar for his brother Jamey and emo. Make no mistake: I'm not talking about Jimmy Eat World-meets-Get Up Kids whiny emo pop here. This is full-tilt, classic screaming, Dischord-style punk rock. Every song on A Sound of Summer Running is drenched in the stuff, from the radio-ready "Sixteen" to the harsh and grating "PS : I've Lost It!" Luxury fans might be taken aback at the vocal difference between the brothers Bozeman, but after some adjustment, should enjoy it. Obviously, fans of Rites of Spring and Fugazi are also advised to check it out as well.
