This album was almost forgotten. We received it at a time when there was turnover in the editorial department and we prematurely thought perhaps it was too mellow to give coverage to. Then the CD itself was misplaced and we kept getting messages from the record company, asking when we were gonna give it coverage, and our first response was, "Well, whenever we hear it!" Then, when we moved our offices, I discovered the CD and rediscovered this cool music. I'm glad it wasn't lost for good, because it is too good to be forgotten. Imagine Fleming and John overdosing on Starflyer 59. Christine has gorgeous lead vocals, but it doesn't have the upfront quirkiness or the Led Zeppelin punch that Fleming and John's music has, but it does have the lush and dreamy guitars . . . kind of a Starflyer vibe. Very cool music. Not too unlike Morella's Forest. But more of a laid-back approach to the melodies and vocal lines, like Velour 100. I like it. There are a couple of numbers that make me think this girl should flee Nashville (if you know what I mean), like "Machine" and "Way Down," but the majority of tunes have that edge it takes for me to consider something tasty and cool.
