Darediablo is a band that is certainly willing to take some chances with their music. They are not a band that will change their style, nor are they a band calling to adapt to the modern day pressures of the music world. Known as a relentless touring band, it shows that Darediablo has taken influences from many different places. They have a sound that is as close to original as the modern day music scene has to offer. Their creative blend of prog rock and a little bit of funk make for an enjoyable listen.

Twenty Paces is not an album that will blow you out of the water, but one instead that will help make the listener appreciate more of what a guitar, keyboard and drums are able to accomplish when played correctly.

The fourth CD from this NYC trio is truly a work of art; but it seems it is a type of art that can only be understood fully by its creator. This is not to say that it can not be appreciated. Twenty Paces is an album that needs to be listened to in its entirety to really appreciate the talent that went into creating such a complex and mystical album. The production is excellent and adds even more to the album.

The biggest problem with this album is its lack of accessibility. The songs at times began to sound the same, and at certain times became downright boring. It felt at times they were holding something back. Being an instrumental band, I'd love to see them really push themselves out of their comfort zone, and expand their sound even more.
