The long-awaited vinyl debut of Eternal Ryte took so long that vinyl died before it was released. CD technology carries the music of these L.A. glamsters through your speakers to expecting ears. The final product is a fair package of incredibly hot guitar leads, good hooks, and melodic, operatic vocals. Bobby "Transformer" Smith steals the show with lightning-quick leads; complete with feeling in his fingertips. Highlights are: "Tightrope Dancer"; "Requiem"; and the beautiful ballad - "Say Hello". "The Killer", which features some great hooks, seems stifled in the studio. With more room to breathe in concert, this song smokes. One of the only disappointments on this album is some of the song structuring. Some of the vocal lines could use refinement. Give this band a bigger production budget, and groups like Dokken might break up (Wait a minute...didn't that happen already? Oh well, you get the point.). These players know melodic metal.
