When I hear the name "Hopesfall", I think of great spirit-filled metalcore. I first saw them at Cornerstone 1999. I was blown away by their stage presence and artistic ability. Since that date, as happens with many bands, line up changes occur and they move on. When a band loses their main vocalist, it can spell the end of the band. In some cases, the band improves (i.e. Embodyment) but in Hopesfall's case, the band should just call it quits but doesn't. The perfect example of why this band should just die is their newest release, A Types. Compared to their previous work, it's night and day. This is not metalcore...it's poppy trendy crap. The one thing that I loved about Hopesfall is that I would feel moved when I heard their music but not with this completely watered down mockery. I hate when a few band members of a once powerhouse band try to ride on the coat tails of the success of their band as a whole once did. I have nothing good to say about this album except that I do like the art work. Please just change the band's name and do whatever type of music you want...don't make a joke of a once great band.
