Releasing a live album is always a gamble, and it is usually a pretty strong statement of confidence, or cockiness, in one's ability to kick it in concert. That pretty much sums up the Huntingtons though, cockiness and kicking it live, so this album, "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly", works pretty well.
The production value is surprisingly good and clean, but it definitely sounds live, with no fancy touch ups or re-mastering, and the raw, well balanced sound quickly draws the listener into the audience. After a quick Spaghetti Western lead in, The Huntingtons start things right off with a mumbled, flippant introduction and then straight into "Pencil Neck" they go. They then proceed to slam through a tight set of twenty-two songs. They manage to cover a wide range of material, and they even take a breath every once in a while to make some kind of snotty remark. So, it's definitely the full package.
For nine bucks, this is a great album. Three and a half cows, pick it up!
