I'm a big fan of soundtracks. One of my favorite albums of all time is Francis Ford Coppola's Dracula (1992). 28 Days Later is very different than other orchestral soundtracks because of the way the music was used in the film. It was used sparingly. There would be a short scene, which required music and a minute and a half later, the scene would be over. So you have a collection of 20 or so minute and a half songs (minus a song from Grandaddy and some remixes - the Godspeed You Black Emperor song sadly is not on this album). So the twenty pieces sound very much like the movie - raw, evil and tense. If these pieces were arranged to be stand alone works, they'd be great. But alas, they are not. And pieces of a minute and a half in length aren't going to make it a classic soundtrack. But still, it's a cool soundtrack.
