Although they may not sound like much more than Creed wannabe's, Lifehouse is able to produce a dozen solid tracks which run the gamut of radio friendly smashes, to aggressive ballads. Their message is similar to that of Creed's, probably due to the fact that singer/songwriter Jason Wade grew up in a home where both of his parents were Christian ministers. Wade doesn't claim to have all the answers, and although he shows his doubts along the way, he is able to write a batch of songs that the spiritually seeking and believer can both fall in love with.
The first single "Hanging by a Moment" poses a dramatic plot line in which a relationship (either romantic or spiritual) is described in great detail, and the fact that the person being sung about is at the center of the songwriter's life. The track is in typical modern rock radio format and Wade's voice balances between Creed's Scott Stapp and Pearl Jam's Eddie Vedder.
Tracks like "Breathing," "Unknown" and "Somebody Else's Song" also have their marks to make a strong impact on radio. However, it's the slower jams like "Only One" and "Somewhere In Between" where Wade's vocals and lyrics are best highlighted.
No Name Face ends with a dramatic and contemplative song called "Everything," which can be seen as a beautiful love song or a captivating praise song. Lyrics like "You are the strength that keeps me walking. You are the hope that keeps me trusting" show Wade's openness to issues of faith. The track also serves as an encouragement to listeners to know that true happiness comes from relationships with others, God being first, and not in the things of this world. "Everything" is truly a mesmerizing way to wrap up a positive first helping from Lifehouse.
