LPG falls into the pattern of most rap stars. "Me and My Cousin" is the attempt to sound like Eminem while "Old Emcees" and "Place Called Hip Hop" use the tired method of trying to establish the singer's superiority over other rappers. There are several "interludes" throughout the CD of spoken-word pieces and instrumentals. Most of these are under a minute long and do not add to the flow of the album, nor do they divide it into chapters. The Gadfly suffers from a lack of originality.
