If you liked Travail's Anchor of My Soul cd, this is a must. Both bands pump out extreme "pimpcore." If you've been wondering where the Christian stuff is that sounds like Korn and Limp Bizkit, look no further. Luti-Kriss, although young, have a mature sound. Not only is their music good, but their message is solid as well. There's no mistaking where these guys are coming from. The lyrics are nothing short of worship. An added bonus with this style of music is a little double bass not usually found in music of this genre. However, Daniel from Luti-Kriss throws it in there nicely. The vocals are not typical either. They fall into one of two categories, the eerie spoken, almost moaned type or the screaming-at-the-top-of-your-lungs type; both done well. The guitars are nicely written, with plenty of riffs perfect to nod your head back and forth to. The first song even has a little treat for all of you turn table fans. Even though that's not me, its still fun to listen to. Overall, these guys have come a long way to where they are at on this cd. I can say that because I've known them since just after their first show at the Pterodactyl in Atlanta. Since then they've gone on to play all over the United States. Expect bigger things in the future from these kids, they're going to be huge.
This time, Travail strays from their rap influences present on their Anchor of My Soul cd and keeps to their heavier side. They do seem to have a much more distinguished sound. After seeing the stupid nookie video on mtv every time I was flipping through the channels, I can totally picture Travail getting on stage next to Limp Bizkit and showing them a thing or two in the field of hardcore. The vocals are harsh and sound really mean. There is one song that is pretty much ruined by some weird spoken vocals. It sounds like a European metal band doing some spoken vocals. Fortunately, the song that has those vocals on it was the worse of the four served up by Travail on this cd. After listening to Travail through several times, I have to say that there is not a great deal of creativity in their music, but it still sounds good. You know the style I'm talking about. Korn, Limp Bizkit and the Deftones had better hope that the secular market never gets a hold of Luti-Kriss and Travail.
I can't lie and say that this cd is in my cd player all the time. My style is more on the metal/hardcore side. However, this cd has always been there whenever I have wanted to put something in besides metal and was not in an emo mood. Generally, even if you are not a typical "pimpcore" fan, this cd is a safe bet for most fans of heavy music.

HM Magazine #87Reviewed by Bryan RutherfordLuti-Kriss' 5ep on Pluto Records -- I know what you're saying, 'Why the heck is Luti-Kriss in the Pick of the Litter, and since when did they record a new album?' Well, honestly, neither of those things will stand after you're done reading this brief, re-issue announcement. Let's go all the way back to the summer of '99 -- Pluto Records, a Dallas/Fort Worth based record label, released a split EP…
HM Magazine #81Reviewed by David M. PoggeHere's a split CD from two of the finest unsigned hardcore bands I've heard. To be completely honest, these two bands would rival any of the signed hardcore bands out right now. Luti-Kriss delivers an intense display of passion that would be a definite hit with fans of Blindside and early Korn. Travail sticks to that classic hardcore style with those growly vocals that border on rap. This CD is a…
The Phantom Tollbooth 1999Reviewed by Joe RockstrohLuti-Kriss is what you get when you take a couple of talented guys who practice long, tour hard, and follow their dream. Best described as nearly-chaotic hardcore/metal full of furious riffs, thick bass, and solid beats, this band is tight. Add some obvious Deftones influences, and some emotional rapping/screaming/singing/spoken words by lead throat Josh, and you get some surprisingly good music.…Similar sounding releases
