After a short lead-in, the project starts (despite incorrect labeling on the package) with "Every Teacher," a spoof of "Every Heartbeat." The video features Lowry dressed as an elementary school teacher--yes a woman--dealing with the terror of a youthful Lowry. The song describes how "Every teacher knows my name/the hear it and go insane/I brought prayer back to class/'cause all my teachers prayed/that I would pass."
He leads into the next video with a stand-up clip describing his "Paw Paw's Chin," the chin he also inherited. Of course the next video is "Face in This World." The take-off of "Place in This World" is a look at Lowry searching to find "a surgeon who'll work overtime to find/My face in this world." Michael W. Smith makes a guest appearance as the end product of the intense reconstruction. Lowry gives a good effort to parody Smith's vocal style--but it got a little tiring after a bit.
Another little standup leads to the live performance of the bluesy "First Class, Wrong Flight," his description of how he has ended up on the wrong plane several times in his travels. Sandi Patty adds a nice acting performance in the video for "Some Other Time, Some Other Place," a parody of her "Another Time, Another Place." Lowry is trying to get her to sing a duet, as she retorts with lines such as, "You'll probably scare my audience to death/And probably melt the mike with your breath." She finally promises to sing, "At some other time and some other place/Where all my friends won't see me and no one knows me/And I'll disguise my face."
He then describes the experience of watching open-heart surgery and how "I love you with my heart" has since lost most of its meaning. Next, he tells how, in other cultures, other parts of the body are used to show love and emotions. Getting more serious, he also tells sums up his Christian life in one word-- interesting. Explaining this statement of how situations come and go, he performs the song "This too Shall Pass."
A typical 1-900 advertisement appears with Lowry in a dating ad. He gets a call from Steven Curtis Chapman who wants to arrange a blind date, leading to a parody of Chapman's, "The Great Adventure"--"The Date Adventure." Obviously not meant to be taken very seriously, he makes some very pointed statements about his recent blind dates: "Why do all my blind dates/Attract so many flies?," "Getting ready for a date/Should not include a rabies shot," "All I want's a girl... not Mr. Ed," "Instead of her number/She'll just leave me her fleas..." and so on. The video takes some scenes from Chapman's "The Great Adventure" video, but mixes in several other concepts, and a cameo appearance by Cindy Morgan.
The project ends with a tape of Lowry as a child on a late-night television program as the credits roll.
While you would expect that Lowry wrote the parodies, he relied on Martha Bolton for the lyrics. However, his stand-up clips between the videos are up to the usual Lowry style of exaggeration.
