Seven Dove Award Nominations, #1 Best New Artist and #3 Best Album by CCM Update, and three #1 songs (including "He's My Son" which also landed #22 on the Billboard AC Chart) are just some of the things people think of when they hear the name Mark Schultz. And that's just his first album!

This Nashville youth minister, signed by Word Records, released his self titled debut album March 28, 2000, and has now released a new sophomore album titled Song Cinema. With more upbeat songs like "I Have Been There," "When The Mountains Fall," and also his cover of Mr. Mister's 1985 hit "Kyrie Eleison", and then ballads like "The Holy One" or the Rachael Lampa duet "Think Of Me," this album clearly shows that Mark has done it again. Like the first album, it's got great melodies and really touching lyrics. From songs about the constancy of God's presence even in troubled times ("I Have Been There") to the heart of a true friendship centered in Christ ("Think Of Me"), this is an album I've been listening to ever since I got it, and love every song on it! I am personally not a big fan of ballads, but the way this man does it lyrically and musically keeps you wanting to listen to it instead of you getting the urge to press the "Next Track" button after a minute or so. You'll find yourself reading the lyrics along with the music and enjoying it.

If you liked the first album, there is not a doubt in my mind that you will like this one as well. But even if you haven't had the chance to listen to the first one, but decide to give his latest album a try, I know it will be a thrilling experience for you! You will enjoy it thoroughly! Mark Schultz has a great voice and certainly shows it in this album (and his first one for that matter). If I could sum up what I think of his album in three words, it would be "I love it!" So I highly suggest you at least check this Adult Contemporary/Soft Rock album out now!
