"Red Sky is a band that hopes to inspire other Christian rockers and reach many unsaved listeners with their brand of progressive fusion rock", says guitarist Craig Erickson. Don't let the progressive fusion label scare you off, this stuff is hard driving metal. It just happens to be played by a skilled guitarist who is influenced by Phil Keaggy, Bloodgood, Steve Morse, and Alan Holdsworth, among others. Craig is the closest I've heard to an Yngwie in the Christian realm. He teaches guitar in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Red Sky currently consists of Craig on guitar (He did the bass and vocals as well on this tape.) and Jerry Loy on drums. This tape is undergoing some re-mixing before its release, so it should sound killer by then. The production is a little weak on the rough mix I have, but the performance is outstanding. If Red Sky had a great lead singer, this band would be absolutely killer! Any takers out there? Guitarists will definitely want this tape. It'll cost $4 and will be recorded on chrome tape.
