I have never been a huge Reggie and the Full Effect fan. They were just one of those bands that seemed like a passing fad to me. I would listen to them if I had to but I didn't hate them. They were just all right to me. I know some people that think they are amazing and all that jazz but for me it just isn't there I guess. So when I got their new album, "under the tray" to review, I really didn't expect anything all that impressive.
"Under the tray" (vagrant records) is Reggie and the Full Effect's third album and I think, their best album. Although I still don't see myself becoming a big fan of theirs, I think this album is a great effort and just a good album. The songs are funny at some points and other times seem semi-serious. My favorite part is on the tenth track when the lead singer of Coalesce does a guest appearance. That track is probably my favorite.
The album has some low points and some high points but it mostly stays on a good path. The production quality was a tad off but still wasn't all that bad. Red neck rants make for good breaks between songs and musical diversity makes for a positive mix. If you're a Reggie fan, you'll love this album. If you aren't, give it a shot. You may like it.
