River City Rebels is a six piece punk rock bands from Burlington, VT. They are on Victory Records. Now when I say that they are a punk rock band, I am not being 100% honest with you. They aren't exactly punk rock, they aren't exactly ska, and they aren't exactly Oi. So instead of saying Ska-oi-punk band, I will just refer to them as a punk band. "No Good, No Time, No Pride" is their third release off of Victory Records and they have made a name for themselves in the punk rock scene. For any of you out there who love old school punk rock and you haven't heard of the River City Rebels...where have you been?
With "No Good, No Time, No Pride", the River City Rebels do a great job of blending old school punk rock, old school ska and oi. Their lyrics stick true to the punk rock mentality. The lyrics are personal and political. The production on this album is great; it does a great job of capturing the Rebels' sound. This album is just good old punk rock fun. I could gather influences from The Clash, Rancid, and The Sex Pistols. They aren't the best band in the world but they are good at what they do. I really enjoyed this record.
Overall this album is a great album to add to your collection if you are an old school punk rock fan. It is a lot of fun and just good punk rock. It is a great break from the over-flowing market of generic pop-punk and a good step back to what punk used to be about and should be about.
