This 6-song tape is more of the latest Roxalt metal. It's not as well produced as Never Be the Same, but the musicianship and songwriting is equal. "Ray (Ronzoni) moved up to Dallas," says lead singer Keith Wells, "so we ran into the studio to get his licks on tape while we could." Currently they're looking for an ample replacement (No easy chore). Meanwhile, Ray jets in from Dallas for the rare Roxalt gig. This is what he did November 10th for the Paradox/Roxalt/Bloodgood bill. Ray did a good job on this tape, as did Jim Brandt (who's getting better on the drums all the time) and Mike Wells on bass. Keith exercises his bluesy voice well (No more Gene Simmons imitations!) and adds some rhythm guitar. This is worthwhile metal, straight-ahead and gut-level. "Tell Me Why" starts off with a screaming guitar and then joins the drums for some chopping thrash for a bit. It eases up for the vocals and changes time twice. I didn't know the boys had it in 'em! Roxalt is doing better and better. Keep 'em lifted up in prayer. The longer they stay together, the better they're gonna get. Meanwhile, pick up these two tapes and enjoy.
