Built entirely on punk beats, and tuff-guy hardcore riffs, Run Devil Run carefully stay away from genre clichés and create some ear grabbing music; which is extremely difficult to accomplish. The weakest link in their music is the vocals. There are moments where the vocals will blow you away, and there are many moments where they make you grimace, sounding forced and out of place. Speaking of vocals, Dan Quiggle of xDisciplex makes an appearance on "Force Fed Reality" which adds an incredible amount of energy to the song.
This album is odd in that it sounds like it would be more appropriate in the '88 to '91 punk scene. Still, with the death of dirty punk and the advent of high school pop punk, this is a breath of fresh air. Vocals notwithstanding, Sinking Deeper is a very decent album, and a nice throwback to the good ol' days when punk was punk.
