The first thing that struck me about this album is how much the cover picture looks like Barbra Streisand...but on to the music. So far this maxi-single is the only opportunity for anyone to hear Bloom's fabulous Mariah Carey-ish voice, unless they're one of the few to own her indie album You're All I Need on the defunct Free Rain Records. Her upcoming full-length label release has been delayed, the album from which these three songs are presumably taken.
And the single showcases a typical Nashville pop sound, with excellent production by Jimmy Collins and Peter Penrose, and some solid musicians--Roscoe Meeks formerly of The Distance (guitars), Jamie Kenney (keyboards), Mark Childers (bass), Mike Childers (drums), and Kurt Goebel (drums/loops). "Your Love Found a Way" is a great danceable song, "Whenever You need Someone" is your standard ballad, and "God's Love Remains" is an upbeat rock tune. If you like the lyrical and musical style of Amy Grant or Rebecca St. James, you'll want to add this maxi-single to your collection as a preview of good things to come.
