Sherwood plays timeless pop music; the sorts of songs that you could play at a family get together. Grandma and Grandpa would like it, your two year old cousin would as well, and your parents will smile at you in a, "Wow, now you've decided to like good music?" sort of look. Sing, But Keep Going is an album you can find songs to convey to your girlfriend what you really feel about her. Other songs have sentiments to others like the song, "Lake Tahoe (For My Father)," which, obviously for the writer's father. The album contains sentimental lyrics, but also very sincere words about missing others and letting them go as well.

Strong melodies and sweet lyrics will lead Sherwood to receive comparisons to the likes of Copeland and Waking Ashland. These are not bad comparisons at all, and if you like those bands, you should pick Sing, But Keep Going right now. Sherwood also has keys and melodies that remind one of the Beach Boys. In fact the liner notes show that Dan Koch, Sherwood's primary song writer, often thinks, "What would Brian do?" when figuring out how to finish a song. The number of different instruments thrown into the mix is evidence of this kind of thinking.

The liner notes are a great window to see into what Sherwood really is, with fun anecdotes on how various songs were made or introspection into what the songs mean to a particular band member. It's a nice addition to an already fine album. This should generate radio air play and be the band's breakout.
