From the mind of Joshua Bradford comes A Phoenix from the Ashes, the debut album from Simple Shelter. Simple Shelter actually IS Joshua Bradford, and no one else, except for occasional guest artists such as Peter Distefano. The album is described as "a musical project that was formed to bring light to as many people in dark places as possible," and promo photos show Bradford dressed like Neo from the Matrix. The album cover shows Bradford with an outstretched hand, so as to say "Come fly away with me into the light. I can fly, because I am Neo!"
Simple Shelter seems to already have the beginnings of a fan base who would be happy to go flying into the light with him. While he claims Enya, Nine Inch Nails, and Portishead as influences, Joshua Bradford's music sounds enough like the Eurythmics to warrant a future cover of "Sweet Dreams." The vocals are very goth, and have that artist-from-the-80s-on-MTV-who-I-can't-quite-place sound.
