Snowdogs is a three piece rock band that comes straight out of London, England. "Deep Cuts, Fast Remedies" is their sophomore release on Victory Records. It is hard to pin-point Snowdogs on the map of genres. They do not have a distinct sound and they do not stick to any one form of music. All of their songs on "Deep Cuts, Fast Remedies" sound different. It is hard for me to describe it to the reader. Their music is very influenced from so many different genres and bands. You can pick up on their influences from 80's rock, punk, hip hop, and ska. You can hear bands like The Offspring, REM, The Replacements, The Clash, The Specials, Aerosmith and on and on.

The production of this album is good and it was expected to be good as it was put out on Victory Records. The major problem I have with this album is that it totally jumps around from genre to genre in each and every song. On one track there will be straight up rock then the next there will be a ska song and then the next a hip hop sounding beat then onto a good punk song...it just gets too confusing. They have a few solid songs and then just some songs that are just a tragedy. It is awesome that they are showing their musical talent by dipping into different genres and such but this is just too much.

I think this band has a shot at being an amazing band but they need to choose a style and branch off from there. You can't build a house without a solid foundation. I think this band would totally rock out if they stuck to their punk style. I wish more bands played the Replacements/Clash style of punk.

Overall this album had some great potential for a future release possibly but it just didn't do much for me.
