    Angelica was a Canadian Christian melodic hard rock project formed in Ontario in the late 1980s around guitarist and songwriter Dennis Cameron. Its early demo had a clean European sound, commercial structures, crunchy rhythm guitars, and fast, technically demanding leads; Cameron's playing remained the constant while vocalists and other players changed. The 1989 debut Angelica paired his bright guitar tone with Rob Rock's clear, forceful vocals, including the unexpected lower-register appearance of producer Ken Tamplin on "Face To Face." Walkin' in Faith kept the melodic metal framework but made the songwriting more even across its ten songs. By Time Is All It Takes, groove and acoustic textures moved closer to radio rock, though Cameron's solos remained prominent. The lyrics offered direct Christian exhortation and personal encouragement.

    When Andy Lyon did not develop into the album's vocalist, Cameron brought Rob Rock into the studio at the last minute; Rock then treated Angelica as a recording commitment rather than a permanent band position. A new singer followed on Walkin' in Faith, and Drew Baca was in place by Rock, Stock, and Barrel and Time Is All It Takes. The turnover reflected Angelica's underlying structure: Cameron assembled musicians for records, while attempts to complete a touring lineup never solidified. The original project ended after the 1992 release. Cameron later played lead guitar in Michael Sweet's solo band and continued recording independently, eventually reviving the Angelica name for an instrumental release after a long hiatus. That later recording again centered on Cameron's guitar rather than a fixed lineup.
