I won't lie to you. I won't sit here and pretend to know everything about this band because I really don't know anything. I don't know anything about the lead singer, David Lehnberg, and his other band, Leiah. All I know is that he is from Iceland or somewhere in Scandinavia. I don't really know anything at this stage in the game except that Ariel Kill Him's new album, In the Pyramid, is flat out amazing.
This is a work of rock art. I won't rank it up there with anything that would change the world but for what this band is and what it does...it does it better than most and that is important in a day when everything is a copy of a copy or so watered down that all artistic credibility is stripped away.
This is a very inspirational album and is just about perfect in every way. It is a very light sounding rock, but isn't something you would find on the radio. This would definitely be eaten up by fans of Radiohead, Belle and Sebastian, Pedro the Lion, Bjork, and Coldplay. This is one of my favorite releases this year but I think that it is missing a power song. I feel like I get lost within it all without a break. This is a good thing and bad thing. There needs to be something that can punch a hole in the monotony. Other than that I would call this album perfect. Great songs, great production value, great art.
