B.O.B. (Bunch of Believers) is the best thing to happen to Christian ska since the Supertones, Five Iron Frenzy and The Insyderz--who are mentioned in the title track of It's a Ska, Ska, Ska, Ska World, the band's first album from KMG Records. The horn section of the eight-member group is exceptional; add strong percussion and good guitar rhythms, and you have music that is tight and bouncy. Avoiding the ska rut, each song has a unique sound and feel, giving the 10-track album a lot of variety. The group has two lead singers--Billybob Brown and Roberta Wyte--and it's interesting how the group transitions from male to female leads. The two share vocal duties on several cuts, including "I'm Gunna Wait," a song promoting chastity. It's a Ska, Ska, Ska, Ska World also includes the no-nonsense "That's What I Believe," where they take a stand for Jesus; an enjoyable cover of the Newsboys' "Not Ashamed"; and "Mission Trip to Mexico," sure to become the anthem of youth groups across the country going on missions trip this summer. B.O.B. says in every song what it takes some pastors an entire sermon to preach. The group has a promising future in Christian music with this killer debut.
