Beauty to Ashes was formed in 1999 in Riverside, California. They signed with present label, Vindicated From Deep Water, in March 2001.
Beauty to Ashes mixes punk, hardcore, and metal (leaning more towards the hardcore side) in a fairly good manner. It works at most points, but at others it's forced and takes away from the presentation. Upfront spiritual lyrics, breakdowns galore, and double bass excursions are the backbone of "In the Silence We Fight." This is a pretty solid release. The production is lacking (the band plays apart from each other at some parts), and the songs are sometimes rough in how they are put together. They need to develop a tight unit atmosphere, staying together on breakdowns and keeping the tempo consistent. But, that all said, this is still an interesting listen that promises improvement with future releases.
