After three in-your-face metal albums, Bride has released this four-song demo full of surprises. The first song, "Pyramid Club", dealing with lust, carries a Rolling Stones feel (whoa!); followed by "Sweet Louise", and upbeat ballad that reminds me of early Kix - just good, easy Rock 'n' Roll. The guitar solo could easily have been done by G 'n' R's Slash (!). "Young Love", the third song, is a moderate rocker that could easily make it in today's bar-mentality rock arena. It's got a cool, catchy chorus. Rounding out the project is a real surprise: a hypnotic, heart-grabbing ballad called "I Miss The Rain", which I can't stop listening to. I could just cry over these lyrics. Pure genius. If this were marketed through radio and secular retail, response would be HUGE. This song reveals Dale Thompson's non-raspy side...and wins my respect in a major way. Way to go, Bride.
