I really like the name of this band (ha! This is not the same Ransom signed to Frontline - ed). Ransom is a five-piece band. The fifth element here being keyboards. Don't jump to conclusions here, it doesn't mean they play "techno-rock". The first song, entitled "Business As Usual", lets you know that right away. The lead guitar is strong and forward and the keyboards compliment the rhythm and lead guitars. I liked the song "Nostalgia For The Infinite" a lot. Does anyone remember a band called Fireworks? The sound reminds me of a track off of "Sightseeing At Night" by them called "Incognito". The lyrics are strong and meaningful and vocalized by Paul Galante. I was impressed with the overall sound of this band and the up-front message in the lyrics. The production here was a lot better than I expected. This tape would make a nice addition to any rocker's collection, so check it out. You won't be disappointed.
