Canterbury Effect's new three-song, self-titled release carefully continues Talking Donkey's tradition of only releasing really cool stuff. Canterbury Effect basically is an emo band, but they take that hurting genre and do everything right. The music is harder-edged than the Juliana Theory's of the emo-world, and much more rewarding overall. Canterbury Effect draws from the same well as Hot Water Music, and delivers their songs with such intensity and power that they deserve the tag "emotional music." The lyrics are forthright and relevant, especially on "Energizer" and "CJ." A great debut release Canterbury Effect.
