Caustic Eminence was signed to Cling Recordings some time ago, and put this 7" out well before Cling spun off its new company Rodent Rocket Records or R3 for short. None-The-Less CE is now listed as a R3 band and not a Cling band, and this is rightly so. See CE is pure Punk. The redeeming factor here is that they have a crusty edge to a couple of the songs, but over all it's pure old school punk.
If you read my review of Forevermore in this issue, you know I'm not too much into punk, so take that into account when considering the rating on this record.
This 7" is on cool clear red vinyl as you can see part of in the picture above. That's another redeeming quality in this piece for me. Now the music, I didn't care all that much for, but that's just because I'm pretty well burned on punk at this time in my life, but I've listened to a lot of punk and seen a lot of punk bands and can clearly say this is good solid Old School punk, and yes it does have a crustcore edge to it at times.
Lyrically I like where these guys are going with songs like Razorblades & Shotgun Shells, Gimme A Beer, and Corporate Christianity it's plain to see that they take a strong stance on their beliefs as a lot of other punk bands do. They also have that tendency to attack the system so to speak, and very anti government as in the song New Deal.
All in all not much new or ground breaking with this release, but they do have a really cool skull logo that just is so rad. I wonder if they've got stickers or patches of this thing, I'd love to support them with it.
That's it and it has the word Caustic Eminence around it in a circle with very small words at the bottom of it that says "Society ain't gonna like this at all."
The inside is done in true punk rawk spirit with a hand drawn picture of the band looking as cartoony as possible, and the band credits read:
knox-vocals/guitar
nigel-bass/vocals the guy with the big hair-drums
So this is a fun loving good old fashioned punk band for you...if you're still into that sort of thing that is.
