Mellow, melodic and slow to mid tempo indie rock is probably the best way to generally describe Cobolt. Lyrically the songs are almost poetic love stories. This is one of those albums that you put in when you want to just lay there, relax and think. It takes patience to listen to this release, and if you don't have a tolerance for really slow music then this one might not be for you. But if you do like bands such as Red House Painters or Codeine then this is probably something you will at least want to check out. The vocalist has a very beautiful and almost soothing voice which is nicely complimented by the rather mellow music.

You have a normal band (some electric guitar, drums, bass) playing melodic rock, but very, very slowly. This album is vocally and lyrically centered.
