What can I say? It's really hard to put your finger on what's not right with this CD except that I don't like it. It just kind of bored me. The band plays a thrashy sort of metal that is a decent style that, as you know if you've read many of my reviews, I'm very keen on. Something about the elements of this band just don't come together quite right.

One thing that doesn't work for me are the vocals. This guy has some talent but I think he needs to take some vocal lessons. See he uses clean vocals but they are good enough to be used as clean vocals. At the same time they are too clean to be an effective harsh thrash influenced vocal style. For some reason it just doesn't work.

The talent of the musicians is not in question however. The music is good. It's basically just straight ahead thrash metal, still it's not overly interesting thrash metal. It's pretty repetitious and no instrument ever really stands out and makes you take notice. This is a CD EP with only 4 songs so to be honest you don't have too much time to make a real decision on whether they are all that good or bad. The best track is the first song on the disc called 'Frozen Forgiveness' which brings all the best elements of Crestfall to the forefront. This is the only track where the vocals are handled perfectly in the rough thrash style that reminds me a lot of old Betrayal. It's a fair release by a young band who has a lot of room to improve.

The first, Frozen Forgiveness, is a thrash tune with raw vocals in the heavy parts and whispers in acoustic passages. The changes from acoustic to heavy are sometimes a bit abrupt. Floodland comes next with the clean singing of Remco. It's a nice melodic metal tune. For all the linguistic freaks the third title was developed: Indeclinable…
