I saw this tape being passed around by members of The Clergy when the Hardcore '94 tour was making its stop here in Austin. Clergy vocalist Chris Simonatti described Crux's style as a cross between The Clergy and The Jesus Freaks. I'd say that description is pretty accurate. Crux has taken the punk style and has floored it to full speed. Unfortunately, there was no lyric sheet. It would have been most helpful. There are 11 songs here, and the production is really good. A word of warning to thrashers: The speed is here, but this is punk. While a good tape, don't expect the intensity of thrash metal.
