Here's a smokin' tape of Darrell songs that I really like that I sometimes feel that not enough other people like. Maybe this release will expose more people to some of these hot tunes. Songs like: "Lay Down This World"; "No More Blues", both from the Vision album (Oh, how I'd love to hear the song "Vision" live!); and "Heaven Southwestern", which is from Get Ready and also appeared on his previous live album on the Ministry Resource Center label.
"You Go To Move" hasn't been released by Darrell before. The rest of the tunes: "Thunder & Lightning"; "Jesus Will Reign"; and "Bible Study" all appeared on his Revelation album.
This concert, which was recorded at Calvary Chapel, Costa Mesa, showcases several of the tunes that Darrell's featured in his sets the past four or five years.
This tape captures the energy and Southern Fried boogie sound present in a Darrell Mansfield concert. The only thing missin' is a 10 or 20 stretch of righteous preachin'.
"Heaven Southwestern" and "Lay Down This World" showcase some of the hot harmonica riffing that Darrell's known for.
By all means, check this tape out...especially if you're anxious for Darrell's new album to come out this Fall.
