"Hope in Anguish" is the third album from East West and it is out on Floodgate Records. I really don't know all that much about this band except I saw them at Cornerstone Music Festival a while back and they really didn't do anything for me.
"Hope in Anguish" is a mirror reflection of common fads of the mainstream circuit. "Nu-Metal" or whatever it is called. Heavy guitar tracks plastered all over the place to hide the simplicity of it all. Is it just me or do all those bands use the same distortion on their guitar tracks? "Dark" lyrics with some guy singing then breaking into his best mix of rap and yelling during the chorus. It's all so repetitious and boring.
The recording quality is average if not below average. The musical quality is unoriginal. Maybe if I was into the whole "Nu-metal" scene I would appreciate this album a lot more but for me it was just pointless.
