Well I must say I am pleasantly surprised by this CD. If you've been around for awhile you might have remembered as I did stumbling upon the website of California's East West, and further you may have noticed a distinct rapcore feel to their site. Not to mention they used to call themselves rapcore and some of their older merchandise that is still available lends itself to that scene very nicely.

Long gone are the days of dishing out simple hardcore riffs and white-boy rhymes. The Light in Guinevere's Garden delivers us almost 2 styles of music on one disc. They start off with heavy guitar driven nu metal sound that rivals just about all the bands currently making millions for themselves on MTV. Given their somewhat cleaner sound I'd have to throw out comparisons to System of a Down, Saliva and touches of Linkin Park to best match it. About halfway through the album comes a slower ballad-esque song called 'She Cries' and from this point on they become more of an alternative band. The aggression level of the music downshifts and the vocals definitely become more suited to 90's grunge/alternative scene. Still the songs are incredibly well written and interesting. This album flows from beginning to end like a truly great album should.

No doubt about it East West has the talent to make music that is thought provoking and keeps you guessing. Regardless of the style of music they decide to pump out it's worth listening to. I suggest everyone find some sound files of these guys and check it out.

HM Magazine #90Reviewed by Doug Van PeltI've been a fan of this band since I first heard them a few years ago. The exciting thing about East West is that they are constantly living up to their potential and improving their sound. This is especially cool when considering that the same producer, Bob Burch, has been working with them as a team since the beginning. While they flirt with 'rapcore,' this is not a complete co-option of…Dead Zine 2001Reviewed by the ProjectLet me start by saying, WOW! MEGA WOW! This CD is truly a masterpiece. This band is so full of sound that you will not move. It had mixes of all kinds of sounds like Korn, System Of A Down, U2, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and many others. This is an awesome disk and is begging to be heard. The Light in Guinevere's Garden is a bomb disk and will be a huge hit when this band gets bigger. The band has a…
