Poppy metal core. I really don't get it. I don't really know how I feel about it. I'm quite tired of metal core. Just about every band sounds the same. I'm also quite tired of poppy melodic wanna be emo rock. That is just downright annoying. When the two are combined and I think about it I start to cringe. It would be like watching a trainwreck or a Mike Tyson press conference. You know that it is going to be ugly and end up a disaster but you can't look away. I'm watching Death Wish 3 right now and it all about the same.
Every New Day actually isn't as bad as I thought upon first listen. It's not amazing or mind blowing but it isn't all that bad. It's quite catchy and enjoyable. It's not going to remain on my play list for long but it might find a home in someone else's. The one major downside to this...it's only a three piece band. I couldn't see myself really getting into their live show. There is nothing that bothers me more than a band that could have a sing along with the crowd but the lead singer is tied down to a guitar or even worse...drums. There are plenty of metal breakdowns and singing along with screaming to make the most midstream scenester happy.
