For those of you that are wondering, this is not a Plankeye, Part II album. I know that it's impossible to escape the comparisons, but at the same time, Fanmail has just carved their own niche in the music scene. Scott Silletta basically runs the show and had help in the studio from Nick Garassi (Quayle), whose influence is heard all over the album, Erik Tokle (Rich Young Ruler), Gene Eugene (from Adam Again) and more. But when the smoke clears, it's really Scott Silletta's solo debut.
The album is upbeat pop-punk, with catchy melodies throughout. I sometimes wondered throughout the album if this would be what Social Distortion would sound like if they had met Christ, mellowed out, and settled down on the prairie. The album is lighthearted and neither blows your mind, nor lets you down. I have to say that it's not all it's hyped up to be, but neither is it something to pass up. And if Scott is really having as many people chasing him as he portrays on the cover, then I'm in the wrong profession, I need to follow his suggestion and be a "Rock and Roll Star."
