Woah Nelly, hold your horses! This is not the ska band I was expecting. In fact, these guys booted the horns for something that seems to work better in their repertoire -- melodic punk with the occasional hardcore vocals thrown into that speed metal sound I love. Let's pick this one apart... First the drums. It sounds as if Michael Hoppe has been listening to Russell Castillo and Lance Garvin lately. There are some similarities in the intricate beats he executes. Take 2 guitars and give them to David Cohen and Mike Wright and they take off running in true melodic punk and at times Fugazi-sounding riffs. Don't forget the bass...steady and bold, what else can be said? Corey Linstrum does his instrument proud. Vocalist, Martin Jimenez seems less inhibited in this sophomore project. His voice is honest and true. This style may be considered punk, but he doesn't try for that "punk accent" heard so often. Joined by the other guys in the band, they attack their hope-filled, God-inspired lyrics with passion and harmonic forcefulness. Rad.
