Pardon me while I rave, but....

This is the best Christian music CD-ROM yet!

Why do I say that? I think this project is fresh, has a cool interface, and offers what a music CD-ROM should offer.

The video for "There Is A Life" is included, and is some of the highest quality reproduction I've ever seen on a CD-ROM. It was not jumpy, the images were clear, and the colors were vibrant. To be blunt, it puts most others to shame.

In the interactive interview, questions float onto the screen one-at-a-time. You can click the question to get a video of Levy answering or wait for the next question. It's a very cool interface, even though it takes a little time. While I think having the questions all on the same screen would have been more effective, this was a lot more fun-just a sacrifice of impact over functionality. The quality on the video isn't the greatest, which is a surprise considering the quality of the music video.

Extended liner notes are also included for each song. While displaying the lyrics for the song (over some nifty artwork) you get to hear a recording of Levy explaining the significance of each song. To me, that is one of the key points to a CD-ROM accompaniment to a music CD.

There is also a small bonus-samples (audio and video) of several other Myrrh artists: Guardian, Dakoda Motor Co., Amy Morriss, Anointed, and Bryan Duncan.

One feature this CD-ROM has (at least on the Mac) is that you can click out of the program and do other things, and come back to where you left the program. You don't have to quit to go check your email...

Now, if the music could all be put on the same disc instead of having the double-CD set, that would be wonderful. As-is, you have to take out the CD-ROM disc to insert the audio disc-if you want to hear the album through your computer. A small problem, but moderately significant.

Overall, a pretty snazzy little project. If you are even remotely interested in hearing Levy's music, then I highly recommend test-driving this CD-ROM.
