At the age of 20 Jaci Velasquez is making a name for herself and continuing her strong performance with her fourth release, Crystal Clear. Velasquez combines a traditional pop sound with a twist of Latin to create some bold and uplifting new hits.
Velasquez's music is similar to popular Latin singers Ricky Martin and Jennifer Lopez. It's like Amy Grant meets Ricky Martin. The album offers a variety in tempo with slower songs like 'Come As You Are' and a few faster ones like 'Every Time I Fall' and 'You Don't Miss a Thing.' The message in her music reflects God's love and comes out true and crystal clear, just as the title suggests. "I try to let my records reflect who I am," says Velasquez, "because I think songs are soundtracks for life; and life is very good."
If you enjoyed her previous albums you are sure to enjoy this one as well, though her music has taken on a more Latin sound. I'm not a huge Latin fan, but I still enjoyed the album. It offers the right mix of Latin and Pop music and Velasquez's unique style.
