Many times CCM fans make the false assumption that an artist who goes solo will sound like the group they are/were a part of. The thought was that Jody McBrayer and Janna Long would put out albums that sounded similar to Avalon. Fans were surprised when the guys of DC Talk released such different sounding albums, none of which sounded like DC Talk. When they hear that Larissa Lam sang with Nitro Praise, many fans may expect her solo music to sound like Nitro Praise, who she sang with in the past.

Surprisingly, Lam's sound is far from that of Nitro Praise. Her sound for much of this project is more AC in the vein of Sandi Patty and Susan Ashton. Some of the album does drift into more of a pop feel like Stacie Orrico and Rachael Lampa, but not enough to redeem the project. Unfortunately, many of the songs never seem to get going. Listeners will find themselves listening and wondering when the songs and album will find their groove and get going. It never seems to happen. Too much of the album is stuck in first gear.
