The Lost Dogs feature members from The Choir, The 77's, and The Swirling Eddies. They have been together since 1992 and released several albums. This release is with BEC recordings.
I've never traditionally been all that interested in the Lost Dogs except to follow along with what they were doing because of their members. However, maybe it's because my musical taste has grown or maybe they are just getting better with age, but either way I really find myself getting into "Nazarene Crying Towel." There's a definite sense of country influence with the Lost Dogs (don't let this shoot off alarms in your head) but a sound more related to the early country that was part of the early rock and roll foundation than anything contemporary. Plus there is a strong folk influence as well. One of the reasons I find this easy to listen to is the great vocals and the solid acoustic guitars, which are served in large portions. Great lyrics only add to the package. While there is a country backbone here, don't let that scare you. I can't stand country and I like this.
