100 Million Eyeballs, the debut project from 21-year-old Angie Turner (professionally known as Miss Angie) is playful, sprightly, and a lot of fun to listen to. Turner sports a light, airy vocal delivery which meshes effectively with slightly distorted, modern rock guitars that define the band's sound. With Oran Thorton, Shawn Turner and Dan Fritz (Johnny Q. Public) sharing production credit with veteran David Zaffiro, it's perhaps no surprise that Angie sounds like Cyndi Lauper singing lead for jQp. This is a project that is, by it's own admission, aimed at church kids who "don't have a clue about who God is," and as such, the lyrics are much like bumper stickers: Bumper stickers sometimes make you smile; sometimes make you mad; sometimes make you think. In a world of sound bite mentality, sometimes all you have time for might be a bumper sticker. So credit Miss Angie with "sticking" to such theologically-challenging topics as eternal praise to a holy God ("100 Million Eyeballs"), the war between the new and old nature ("Trampoline") and dependence on Christ ("Lift My Eyes Up").
