Attention power metal warriors of the Lord!! Fresh off their European tour opening for DIO, German metal masters are back with their second (and best) CD. Who would have thought there would be another guitarist out there that could rival the complex virtuosity of Chris Impellitteri and Yngwie Malmsteen? Well there is and his name is Carljohan Grimmark. Man this guy shreds!! The music here is very similar to that of IMPELLITTERI, SEVENTH AVENUE and LIGHTMARE and is comparable to secular bands like HAMMERFALL, BLIND GUARDIAN, YNGWIE MALMSTEEN, etc.. This CD is more "song" oriented than their debut and should appeal to a wider audience. Long Live the King is heavy "arena" metal that has super catchy hooks and memorable sing-along choruses. It also contains some tracks like "The Mission" which show that NARNIA can come up with some progressive artistic pieces along the lines of VENI DOMINE. All in all this is a great classic/power metal CD.

They strip down to just drums and lead guitar at times, with the bass and keyboards faint in the…Art for the Ears 1999Reviewed by Marco PovervestNarnia is a Swedish band that came forth out of the band Borderline. Axis of this band are vocalist Christian Liljegren and guitarist Carl Johan Grimmark who are both part of the non-functional Modest Attraction too. Musically Narnia makes melodic metal that can be compared to bands like Helloween and XT. Their debut-CD led to a deal with Pony Canyon and later on with Nuclear Blast. Last year the…
