No Warning is a "New York hardcore" sounding band from Toronto, Canada. This is the third release and second on Bridge Nine. They have toured with the Cro-Mags and the Hope Conspiracy and have compiled a good fan base in Canada and the US. Their first release was a 7" demo that was re-released on Bridge Nine with a few new tracks. Their lead singer, Ben Cook, might be familiar to you. Well, if you are a Goosebumps fan. He starred in one of the episodes and also was in a movie called Little Men. It's kind of like Little Women but with boys. Wow...if that isn't hardcore, I don't know what is...

Basically, No Warning's new release, "Ill Blood", lacks originality and substance. They are a "new york hardcore" influenced band from Canada...to be influenced doesn't mean that you have to sound like a rip off. They went on tour with NYC's famous hardcore band, The Cro-Mags. I wonder if the crowd was disappointed to hear the same band twice? They basically sound like Madball and The Cro-Mags. Their guitar lines are generic and so are the lyrics. They do have a few redeeming qualities. The production of this album is great! If reviews were based on just recording and mixing, "Ill Blood" would receive an A+. They also have a few good mosh parts but they are very few and far between. Let's face it, most mosh parts aren't very original but they work very hard at making them as generic as possible. The vocals leave a lot to be desired as well. They just lack passion and originality. They would be better at playing hockey...sorry a little Canadian humor there.

The production is great...the album isn't worth buying
